THE COMMNUNITY
“We must shine a light on the knowledge that African American women bring to STEM, and model for young ladies that STEM can be vast and diverse.”
-Ambria Berksteiner
EDUCATE. ENLIGHTEN. EMPOWER.
Ambria continues to uphold this motto as a leading STEM ambassador and Spokesperson in the City of Savannah and beyond. In 2016 Berksteiner launched Operation: Changing the World One STEM at a Time, which provides mentoring and inspires young Women of Color to purse STEM careers. While Ambria held the esteemed position of Miss Black Savannah USA, she also held the positions of Spelman Alumna STEM Ambassador, is a member of the Executive Board of the National Society of Black Engineers (Auburn University Chapter), and was a recipient of the Georgia Power Women in Engineering Scholarship. Ambria believes that more than ever before, it is critical that we invest in our youth. Berksteiner continues to display her exemplary service as an advocate for the STEM fields as well as the arts. Since Operation Changing the World One STEM at a Time's creation and obtaining this prestigious title Berksteiner has continued to use her voice to bring awareness to the math and sciences, working diligently to expose underrepresented students to different areas of the STEM fields.
